Story: Great Season with some All-stars players (Twin Towers: Marcel & Paul). We end up in the final of the cup and the final of the championship. Propably the highest Nestlé bbal Squad of the century. Highlights: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: [ bbal news ] Hello teameates, We had a full team yesterday with many new players. Great. Welcome to Paul, Paul and Mario. In both of our games, we defeated the teams by more than 20 points. It reminded me of a US football match, with our Joe Montana (Paul) passing to our wide receivers. The difference was we had two Jerry Rice's (Jean-Claude, Greg ...)! Marcel provided the Shaq attack for our team with his board-slamming dunk! Next time...try and break the backboard! :) Thanks to everybody. I would like too congratulate Emma and Yadwiga for there recruiting and screening of new bbal players. Francis ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sporting Success in the NRC In only their second year of the corporate championship, NRC/Nestlé basketball team made it to the final (yes, the final) of the Inter-Entreprise tournament. The NRC/Nestlé team also finished second (yes, second) in the league. This great achievement was not without its human cost – 4 cruciate ligaments, 2 thumbs, one rib and one little finger were damaged. (Sorry Madame Bartholdi). The final itself was a keenly fought contest against Ecole Hoteliere Lausanne (the league champions). Despite a nervous start, NRC/Nestlé, encouraged by at least 40 (yes 40) very vocal Nestlé supporters, managed to close a 10 point lead, to level the scores. Some school-boy errors, and poor refereeing, in the last quarter saw EHL steal the championship from under our noses.
